In computing the term phishing alludes to the use of increasingly
sophisticated lures to "fish" for users' financial
information and passwords by masquerading as a trustworthy
person or business in an electronic communication (generally
e-mails and internet pop-ups). The latest modus operandi
is to send e-mails to e-banking and credit card users with
links to simulated websites. Visually it is very difficult
to identify these fake websites given that they are exact
replicas of the real ones, it is therefore important that
users do not open banking websites using links appearing
in e-mail messages or internet pop-ups.
Please be informed that The Winterbotham Merchant Bank
will not send you an e-mail with links to websites. If you
have any doubt please don’t hesitate to contact your
account officer or other authorized personnel of The Winterbotham
Merchant Bank.
